SFVA Welcomes New Principal!

Here is a letter introducing Principal Parris:

July 20, 2017

Dear SFVA Family,

My name is Sheldon Parris and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of San Fernando Valley Academy. I am truly honored to serve as your school leader and I am committed and dedicated to excellence through the grace of Jesus Christ. My wife and I worked in the Newbury Park area where she served as Assistant Treasurer for the Pacific Union Conference and I served as Vice Principal for Newbury Park Academy. After being in Portland, Oregon for one year where I served as Principal of Portland Adventist Academy, we are very happy to be back in Southern California again!

Over the past 9 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. As Principal, I will spend a considerable amount of time supporting and advocating for the kids as well as providing leadership and friendship to all staff members, parents, pastors, and stakeholders. I will also encourage my students to work extremely hard towards their dreams, but most of all follow Christ in all that they do.

I am eager to see the amazing work that God will do through this Academy for many, many years. My main objective as Principal is to give each student the opportunity to get to know Jesus, and remind them each day that they are loved and were created for a purpose that is far greater than what we can imagine. I cannot wait to share with you the amazing things happening on this campus throughout the school year.

There are many who support this school in different ways with good hearts and the best intentions. I want to thank each of you for your commitment to this school and assure you that I will do everything I can to get SFVA to its highest potential. With strong team work and continued dedication and support from everyone involved with this school, and most of all through prayer and commitment to God, there is no limit to what this school is capable of!

I will continue to lift you up in prayer as I ask you to remember us in prayer as another school year is on the horizon. Once again, I am grateful for the opportunity before me and I look forward to serving and getting well acquainted with this community.

God Bless you!

Sincerely,

Sheldon Parris

San Fernando Valley Academy Principal
